Hedgehogs that have been rescued on campus 🦔
Pindsvin she was found between Biology/Wentworth. She was out during the day, she was rescued.Pindsvin had a few ticks on her after careful removal of them, and treated for roundworm and lungworm. She gained good weight and she was released back to the area where she was found.
Clyde he was found at the library just going round in circles. Later we found out he had cranial damage and had ear mites, fluke and lungworm. Also was having treatment on his right eye. He was a very poorly hog but with the help he had made a full recovery after a lot of treatment. He now lives in a secure walled garden.
Connie she was found at Constantine college, at Heslington east. She also did well in her recovery after been treated for lungworm. Connie was fostered by Gordon Eastham in her next step of rehab. She stood a very good chance with her been found early. Connie was released in the woodland near Heslington East.
Lady Deramore was found on the path near the walmgate stray and the sports field. She couldn’t walk very well and had spotted blood on her. She was taken away and to find out she had a very badly injured back leg. Which later she had to have it amputated. She’d been up and down due to a parasite burden and roundworm. Lady Deramore was released to a large wildlife garden, where she lives with Hector another Hedgehog.
Dickie was found near the grounds department. He was slightly dehydrated but in not bad health just needed to be fattened up. The gentle giant he was know as. He was released on the fields near where he was found.
Chris was found with Lindsay at Heslington East don’t know much about him. But I do know he was released. But poor Lindsay went to Hedgehog heaven who was found in the same area roughly at the same time.
All this could not have happened if it wasn’t for the people who found them and also.
